Hi I'm new here and never done anything like this before. I was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 2 weeks ago, I'm still trying to get my head round it and thought I was coping but I've been confirmed with covid today and just feel rubbish . I cant stop crying am so scared that I now have to deal with covid as well as breasr cancer. I feel like I'm getting worse with trying to deal with it all and it's so frustrating as I'm normally such a together person. How does everyone deal with it all and I take it its normal to have wobbles .
Thanks x
Hi Boobella,….couldn’t be more normal to have the wobbles, that’s putting it mildly, and to be diagnosed with COVID on top of it just adds to the feelings of total anguish…..so, certainly don’t feel bad about feeling like your not dealing with it, I don’t think anyone who has been diagnosed with bc has not at some stage thought they can’t deal with it, I know I certainly have had my fair share of ‘wobbles’. Do you know what your treatment plan is yet? There will be lots of people on this forum who can share experiences of all kinds of treatments, don’t be afraid to ask, you will find lots of support here.
Sending good wishes, take care xx
Hello. Yes wobble days are normal. I still have them. I'm 3 months since surgery and almost done with radiotherapy (3 to go out of 15). Its a lot of news to take in and everyone reacts and copes differently. I've not had covid but hopefully your symptoms aren't too bad but this can also not help your situation. Perhaps use your isolation time to give yourself some tlc and get some rest. Hopefully, you have a plan in place or will get it soon. Dont be tempted to Google. If you need info try Macmillan or Breast Cancer Now website. I hope you also have some support/partner/family to talk to. We are here if you need us x
Thank you everyone for your replies. It makes me feel better knowing that's normal. I don't feel great with this covid it's like having really bad flu so I think I will stay in bed today. I do have a plan for my cancer which is surgery and possibly radiotherapy followed by tablets . I just hope this covid doesn't hold anything up . Once again thank you and hope you are all staying well xx
Hi. Could you please tell me about your surgery waiting time and how long between surgery and radiotherapy? Thanks..I wish you well in your continued recovery.
More details in my profile if you click my name. They told me 6-8 weeks but it was more like 11. I had to change hospitals for radiotherapy as mine didn't do it. everything still takes a bit longer due to extra precautions. x
Hi I haven't been given dates yet. I found out I had breast cancer 2 weeks ago and I've already had my pre op and mri scan. So Im Just waiting on results for that . I will know more at my next appointment I think .
Thanks, I'll have a look at your profile..I wish you well.
It would be unusual if you didn't have wobbles. I found myself regularly weepy and often couldn't put a finger on exactly what had upset /moved me. Sometimes it was just that someone had been kind and at others it was because of dark thoughts that I didn't feel able to share with people for various reasons.
I have been given a Covid test to do on the morning of my first radiotherapy session. They told me that if I tested positive it didn't mean they would automatically cancel the appointment, just take extra precautions. Hope this happens for you too.
Wishing you all the very best at this difficult time. We're here for you x
