Hi, I'm new on here. Recently diagnosed with lobular breast cancer. Feeling scared and unsure and hoping that I can share with people who understand what it really feels like

  • Hi Cazzann, sorry you are having to join us here but here is the best place to be, we have all been where you are now and will use our experiences to help support you on your journey, someone on here will be on the same treatment plan as you and will therefore be able to offer you the best support and advice.  One day at a time, you are not alone.  Love Ann

  • Thankyou so much. I am glad that I plucked the courage to join this group. I have 4 grown up sons and usually find myself playing it down and consoling them so now I will be able to talk my feelings and begin to accept it for myself x

  • Hi Cazzann,

so sorry you are joining us here but you are not alone .

I too have recently been diagnosed with lobular breast cancer. It does help to hear others experience on here . I fully understand how you are feeling as so many on here are travelling the same path .

Iv been for another 4 biopsies today so feeling pretty uncomfortable on both sides now the anaesthetic has worn off .

it’s endless test then painstakingly waiting for results.it’s such an emotional rollercoaster.

They told me today that lobular breast cancer usually amount to a low percentage of breast cancers ,but she said just lately they are treating such a lot of women with it .it’s difficult to detect as it doesn’t form a lump usually and isn’t always picked up mammograms.

I don’t know if you have been given a treatment plan yet. I haven’t although I would opt for a double mastectomy given the choice .(having said that I am a total wimp regarding operations) Everything about this is scary so I fully understand how you are feeling . I’m trying to take one day at a time but the human brain tends to run riot at times x

  • Hi Cazzann

Welcome,to,the forum and I’m sorry to,hear that you have been diagnosed with lobular breast cancer.

Breast cancer is very treatable these days. Your medical team will do everything in their their power to make sure that you get better.

I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now in remission.

Wishing you the best of luck with what lies ahead for you.

    Best wishes
