I have already mentioned that I have evilly questions.
I am having surgery on both breasts. And lymph node removal.
Stage 1 cancer and very small but have calcification s which are causing more issues.
I have been told to wear a sports bra after surgery. I have bought a few, prob wrong ones as no support.
How do youpull them over your head when upper area going to be in pain.
I normally wear under wire and am a 34 e
I was advised to get a couple of bras from M&S which zip up at the front. They're not underwired. I went in in the middle of July and once I explained to the assistant what I was looking for, she let me use the changing rooms to try some on. I've been told to wear them 24/7.
Thank you for this.
I used to love bra shopping. Now not so much.
I hope all goes well for you
M&S do a good post surgery bra, front fastening and very soft. I am using these for sleeping now, 2 weeks post surgery
Hi MaryMK
I was told to get sports bras too and to take them to surgery. I got a couple from M&S which have normal bra fastening at the back. I did wear these in the immediate days after and I found that they were quite supportive of similar sized boobs. Later during RT my friend suggested some soft front fastening ones from Sainsbury. They were called 'lounging bras' and very soft compared to what I would usually have worn. They were great for those few weeks. Glad to say, now 6 weeks post RT, I am back to my usual old trusty underwired M&S minimisers which keep everything were they should be.
The others were good for the times they were needed, but nothing beats the old faithful tried and tested ones
All the best Wallydug
As others have said, get ones that zip up the front. Just wanted to add that there is no way you'll be able to pull a bra over your head and even less likely to be able to get it off again for a while after surgery....!
I got great ones from Amazon and still wear them as I'd already ditched underwired bras a year of so before BC diagnosis as I found them uncomfy,
