Yesterday I had a second op for a scrape of the area, initial results still show clear margin but small so they want to check it hasn't invased
My area of concern was 22mm, is that a large area or relatively average?
Hi
I can't help with your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. This might be because this is a very active group and your post has slipped off the first page before someone with the right experience has seen it. Replying to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi my surgeon told me 45mm would be upper limit for lumpectomy after that mastectomy . My area of calcification amounted to 51mm but I’m large cup (g) but he would have tried for lumpectomy if I wished ., I didn’t I wanted mastectomy .
unsure if that puts 22mm into medium or small . I’m sure others will be along shortly with their measurements.
Morning
Thank you for the reply, hope your journey is going well, to be fair I asked but they said absolutely not required to a mastectomy, any how two ops later and results a week today
Take care x
I don't think the tumours are classed as small, medium or large and as everyone's breast size is different, then your 22mm may be big or small depending on how much of your breast it is. I don't think there would be an 'average' size either, It all depends when you found it and how big it has grown.
There is a classification for breast cancer, and anything up to 2cm is stage 1. This link may be useful:
