Appointment date

Is this  your first appointment at a breast clinic?  If so, you would normally see a consultant and he/she will examine your breasts and, if they think it necessary, will send you for a mammogram and ultrasound.  During the ultrasound, they may take biopsies of any suspicious areas  You will then return to see your consultant.  He/she will be then be able to tell you what they have found and, unfortunately, you will have to wait a few weeks for your biopsy results.

They will discuss your results and if it turns out to be cancer will give you your possible treatment plan. They may also give you an appointment for either a CT Scan or a mri to make sure that that the cancer hasn’t spread.
