Thank u Diane for your reply. I hope you are feeling ok after yr op and not in too much pain.  I was given 4 options having been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. 1 mas with recon at east grinstead  2. Mas with silicone implant (altho cant hav radiotherapy with that option and consultant says i need that) 3. Mas alone. 4. Lump with radio and hormone meds. After deep duscussion we hav all agreed lump option (hope that was the right option to chose!) because as far as she can tell there is only one lump   she will take sentinel lymph nodes too.  My boys are 23 and 31, youngest still living at home.  My husband is very supportive, and actually said yesterdsy he is really worried that i may not come through the op, i hav AF, so could be difficult which is why reconstruction would hav to b delayed she wouldnt risk a 6-8hr op.  I myself hadnt even given that a thought, i just wanted the cancer out,  but then it seemed like it wasnt me they were talking about - weird. I suppose u are right, any emotion is a good emotion, there is no right or wrong in this and we are all different, thank u fr yr reply, very supportive

  • Hi I’m not feeling to bad, a little sore, I slept most of Saturday apart from a couple of hours, was up all day yesterday and had a nap this afternoon. I’m surprised how good my boob looks to be honest. I was scared stiff about having general anaesthetic, although I’ve had it before and spent last week telling my partner I don’t want to have the surgery (like I had a choice) but as weird as it sounds by Friday I couldn’t wait to have it done and behind me.
You’ll be ok, you’re in good hands and they know you have AF.

Wishing you positive thoughts and big hugs for Thursday

    Diane x
