Hello
Sorry for the long post
I have not yet been diagnosed with breast cancer , but was looking for some advice . I recently was recalled from my routine mammogram for changes . They said they would.like to do an ultrasound and another mammogram which they did they said there was a small.area they would like to try and aspirate they tried but nothing so they then did a core biopsy , I had results and they said it showed no cancer but were not happy after MDT meeting with where the sample came from so would like to do another which I have had done, they rang me yesterday to say results showed no cancer but they are sill not happy so need another biopsy . I am now totally convinced they are expecting a cancer biopsy result and that's why they keep doing them . I am waiting for a date for my 3rd biopsy , is there any questions I should be asking ? What if thats clear will they leave me for 3yrs ? They have said area in question is around 7mm so small that's why theybare not getting good biopsy .
Hi I was called back after my mammogram, had a 3D mammogram, scan and core biopsy, mine was 12mm and the surgeon couldn’t even feel it, the radiographer said that she was 99% sure it was cancer as the edges were pulling the tissue surrounding it.
7mm is tiny but they are worried about it and because it is small it would be very difficult for them to hit it smack on.
If the next one comes back negative also, I’d ask them what it is, or what they think it is, none of us like to even mention cancer in the same sentence but I’ve come to believe it’s better to know what it is, than live with the fear of what it might be.
I’d also ask them if you can you have it removed and if not will they be checking it.
Have they given you the number of the Breast care Nurse, because you could maybe ask her.
Sending you big hugs, hope all goes ok and I’m sure you’ll get lots of advice on here.
Diane
