Hi all, new here. Just been diagnosed with breast cancer today. All over the place with so much running through my mind. Been told I will need chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy:(
Want to know there are people in similar situations to talk too. Any advice gratefully received
thank you
Hi I was diagnosed 4 weeks ago and have surgery this Friday, lumpectomy and radiotherapy, my only advice is take one step at a time, you’re in shock at the moment and your mind doesn’t want to process anything, you’ve got a million and one things going around it and you can’t focus. We’ve all been there I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. I’ve calmed down since I had my operation date and I’m in isolation at the moment before my op.
There are lots of ladies on here who have much more knowledge than me and I’m sure you’ll have lots of replies and advice.
Sending you big hugs
Diane

Hi AOL112
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The best advice I can give you is to take things one day at a time and don’t be afraid to cry if you need to. Also try to keep yourself busy buy doing the things that you love and take a walk everyday is you can even if it’s only a short one.
Breast cancer is very treatable these days. was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year and after chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now in remission.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatments and if you have any questions about any aspect of your treatment I as well as others will be only too happy to answer them. There is a chemo thread on the diagnosis and treatment part of this forum which you can look at to see how others have gotten on with treatment or to get advice on how to cope with chemo which while not pleasant is doable.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatments.
Best wishes

Thank you so much for your kind words. Even when you are going through a lot yourself I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I am defo on a rollercoaster.
just waiting for it all to start is scary stuff. Trying to stay positive.
sending hugs and positivity back to you xx
Thank you so much for your response. It has been helpful in a time where everything is all over the place. Thanks for sign posting me to other advice and guidance pages. I am trying to stay positive and definitely taking each day as it comes. Just hearing from others who have been through this gives me more hope. Glad all is better for you and your in remission.
It really has helped. Thank you xx
I’m sure it’s hard to take all this in. I had my diagnosis on a Friday last week and I’m just feeling so scared of all the uncertainties. Still has not sunk in and I’m not sure what to think. But like others say, let’s just take it a day at a time and hope for miracles to happen.
take care
It is really hard but going to take the advice of each day as it comes. It is scary but hope you have family and friends to support.
appreciate you messaging when you are go go through the challenges yourself.
you take care too
Hi there, sorry you're going through this, it's tough for sure and I found it was better when I actually had a treatment plan and some concrete next steps. I was diagnosed in February and have been blogging over on the blog page, it's called One Life Live It and maybe you find it helpful.
Yes I think i will feel more positive once I have a plan in place. Thank you for your message. I will take a look at your blog
