Maggie 1954
I was planned for lumpectomy with lymph node removal, but it was changed to a mamoplasty. Had my op last Friday - was terrified prior to the op so am delighted now out the other side. What advice are you after?
Welcome. Click my name to read my profile. I'm nearly 6 weeks post op. still hard going some days with aches and emotions but getting there. I'll help if I can x
Hi Maggie1954
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and after having chemo and surgery then Radiotherapy I am now in remission.
Just take things one day at a time and do the things that you love doing to try and keep your mind off things
Wishing you the best of luck with your surgery.
Best wishes

Hello Maggie 1954, i had a lumpectomy and 2 nodes removed on the 7th July.. If i can help to answer any questions.. ask away and ill try to help you out.. x
Thank you so much I am a bit lost really not sure where to start I hope your feeling ok after your surgery x
Hey, im ok apart from a little pain where they took the nodes out.. but everything is healing ok.. The waiting is horrible, but it will soon fly bye.. My garden hasnt looked as nice as it does this year, had to keep my mind occupied by doing the garden.. Just try to keep yourself busy.. Easier said than done, i know.. xx
The trick is trying to keep occupied as for me, my mind just ran off with all sorts of ideas. A few replied to me when I first posted which was helpful. I'm trying not to overthink as you can't change the outcome. I was lucky and lump caught early but in all fairness there is surgery and drugs and plans - all so much better and improving all the time. I've found the mental and emotional side a lot harder and still do. I have my oncology tel call this pm and already am anxious about it. I've wound myself up all weekend as I started my tamoxifen yest and I struggle to swallow pills but I'm managing. Maybe write some thoughts down and chat with breast care nurse or post here. there is no silly question. keep going all x
