Hi , I was diagnosed in April following a routine mammogram with stage 2 ductal cancer , with no spread to lymph nodes. I had surgery in may to remove the lump and 8 lymph nodes , and at follow up I was told I would need radiotherapy and tamoxifen .Four weeks later I was told the HER2 was positive and I would need herceptin and a small amount of chemo. Now 4 weeks on I am still waiting to hear when treatment will start !!! I have been ringing the breast care nurses and the oncologists secretary to find out what is happening but they have not got back to me . Am I panicking unnecessarily or should I have started treatment before now ?
Hi Wightgirl welcome to the forum. It sounds like they are in the process of handing you over to different teams but that is their issue an not yours so if I was you I would keep calling them and insist that they get back to you by a set time.
I dont think that gap is unreasonable but I do agree that you do need to know what is happening and they need to get dates and times sorted out for you.
