Hello I’m new to the group and wanted to connect with you. I have HER2 positive breast cancer and would like to join the forum for support. I have had a lumpectomies and completed 6 cycles of chemotherapy. I had a break and have just revived my first cycle of Kadcyla (TDM1) > 12 cycles and 5 years of letrazole. I am waiting to hear when I start my radiotherapy. I really found the first lot of chemo harsh and had lots of viral infections and Weight loss with depression and anxiety. I was shocked and distressed to hear I needed more chemo with the Kadcyla and it would be for a lot longer than before. I had my first session last week and I’m happy to say so far the side effects are nowhere near as intolerable as before. I have been emotional hormonal and fatigued and I am praying that after a couple of cycles these symptoms will settle down. It’s great to find this forum where we can share our experiences, strength and hope.
Hi Stalina
I was upset when told I had to have more chemo. I have had 4 rounds of kadcyla and have another 10 to go and it's getting a lot easier as I go on.
so far I have had no side effects as I have my chemo on a Friday so can take it easy before work on a Monday.
Hope the rest of your treatment goes well .
