I didn't think I'd ever log in to a breast cancer support group. I underwent WLE/SNB a week ago. I have my appointment post surgery sometimes next week. I need help to cope. God knows I've always been the strong one in the room. I can't even manage to tell my family what's happening.

Please tell me there is hope for a complete cure.

    Hi,

the best advice I can give, is tell your friends and family what's going on so you have their support. x

  • Hi Solace

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you are facing a diagnosis of breast cancer.  Like Scatty69 said I would tell your family what's going on so that you can get their support.

Breast Cancer is very treatable these days especially if caught early.  Your medical team will do all in their power to make sure that you recover from this illness.

I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last September and after 8 cycles of chemo, an operation and radiotherapy I am now in remission

Wishing you all the best with whatever treatments your medical team will put you on.  If you have any questions about any aspect of your treatments I will be happy to answer them if I can and if I can't there will be somebody on this site who can help you.

    Best wishes

    Hi Solace

Tell everyone. You will be surprised how much of a relief it is not to keep it a secret. And how much people really do care about you.

I echo everything Daisy53 says: I too was diagnosed with triple negative in September last year, and have gone through what sounds like a virtually identical treatment path. Please don't lose hope; the medics and nurses are awesome and will give you the very best care they can whatever your treatment path.

Please talk to your family! And don't be afraid to cry - it's ok.

    Best wishes
