have just received my first glove for Lymphodema in my hand.
can it get wet?? IE: whilst washing up, or in the pool???
Hi
I don't have any experience with a lymphoedema glove but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. This is possibly because this group is very active and your post has slipped off the first page before someone who can help has seen it. Replying to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far in your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi , just read your post. Your glove shouldn’t really get wet as it will be very uncomfortable. If you accidentally get it wet then not a problem and in fact during the VERY hot weather I have been known to deliberately soak my arm in cold water with my sleeve on, but it soon dries!
wearing rubber gloves would be a better idea!
As for swimming, remove your glove before entering the pool and put on after your swim! Chlorine in the water will break down the elastic! Swimming is great for Lymphoedema so you shouldn’t have any issues putting your glove back on afterwards!
Hope that helps a little. Sal x
Thank you for the information, really helpful x
