Reconstruction

Apologies that I can't help with your question, but your post has dropped to the second page so by answering I'm bumping it back to the top of the first page in the hope that a lady will be around now who's had a reconstruction and can give you a bit of advice.

Hi, I had a double mastectomy in 2018 and just now( 2 weeks before) a double reconstruction. This was my 7th operation my life, but the heaviest...I don't want to scare you ... but it's not a mediterran holiday 

Just I follow you if is not problem for you...maybe another people can tell you an other experience.

Thank you for replying, hoping you make a speedy recovery , I can’t believe you have shattered my dreams of this being a walk in the park  I’m taking it day by day appointment by appointment it’s worked for me so far.

Hi Toni40. If you put DIEP in the Search section at the top of the MacMillan Main Facebook page, there are some posts from people who opted for this successfully a short time ago. I researched all options hard as wished to make the right decision for me, considering my lack of experience of operations, and it is all very overwhelming in a short timescale when you are asked to decide on best option and you have no idea how you might feel after it. 

Believe me you ll be fine! You have " just " one...

Thank you for messaging, it’s so hard to know the right decision and worry that the decision i make might not be the right one, I don’t want to regret anything if that makes any sense

My daughter is having mastectomy  and reconstruction at the same time op date 13th July.

The lady she works with had it done last year, and she met up yesterday with her.

She learnt a lot from her, its not easy but  its doable, and she does not regret it.
