Hi everyone!

after urgent referral to breast clinic and having had all the tests it was confirmed this week I have dcis and cancer cells found in lymphnodes. I’m waiting for hers2 result and having an MRI Wednesday. I’m 37 mum of 2 and in total shock. I’m really concerned about the fact the cells are in my lymphnodes, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello

Sorry you have been diagnosed, I had BC in 2 lymph nodes in my axilla. Lots of women have lymph nodes affected.  It's very common. Ask any questions you like and someone will come on and answer you. I'm sure more ladies will confirm they had BC in their lymph nodes too.

  • Hi really sorry about your diagnosis.  As Charlieandlola said lots of women find spread to the lymph nodes - this doesn't mean it has spread anywhere else.  What is likely to happen is that the affected lymph nodes will be removed and I think you will have scans to make sure it hasn't spread beyond the lymph nodes.  I've come across a lot of ladies on here who had lymph nodes affected and I can't think of one off the top of my head who found it had spread beyond the lymph nodes.

I know it's not easy but try not to assume the worst as breast cancer with or without lymph involvement is very treatable these days.

Wishing you all the best with your journey.

  • I was diagnosed fifteen years ago, initially with three nodes involved. Surgery showed only one was cancerous. Don’t panic. Treatment has come a long way and the stats are very positive!

  • Thankyou, that’s given me a little reassurance. Xx

  • Thankyou, this has really helped xx

  • Thankyou really appreciate it xx
