    1. Hi, my daughter had a mastectomy in December 2016, and all the chemo and radiography that followed. It was an aggressive cancer, and fortunately the caught it completely and early. She has been fine, is a qualified science teacher and worked all through lock down. Recently she has had a swollen arm and has to wear a sleeve st night. But the outcome of her cancer has been fantastic. Ive told you this to tell you positive news. Hope it's worked. All the very best prayers and wishes to your future battle. Xx

Hi. Thank you for sharing your daughter journey. I have been very positive since getting the news of the breast cancer.   Nothing else for it,cannot run away from it. All the best. Xxx

  • Hi Bushie,

I had a mastectomy in November 20. Are you having reconstruction? I chose not to as I’m very small breasted anyway.

  • Hi Bushie, I’ve got on quite well since my surgery. My scar is healing well. It feels strange to touch and still get strange sensations but the surgeon is happy with it. I had decided as soon as I was diagnosed that I wanted a mastectomy so for me once it was gone it was easy to except and actually didn’t look as bad as I thought it would.

Hi neenie29.   Thank you i have just read your profile. I dont know yet what chemo i.will be getting. Xx

  • Hi! I had mastectomy and reconstruction on the right and a reduction on the left in January. I was a 34F so was "pleased" to be having a reduction and cling to this as my silver lining!

My surgery went well but I was horrified when the oncologist recommend chemo...my biggest fear...I have now had 2 out of 6 chemo, 3 FEC followed by 3 Docetaxel. This will then be followed by radiotherapy and several years of Tamoxifen.

It's a long journey but like you I am trying to stay positive (obviously there are dark days along the way) and clinging to every silver lining I can find

    Good luck with your surgery!!

  • Wishing you the very best for your op and a speedy recovery XCherry blossomHeart
