Hello

Im new to this group. I had a mastectomy and 2 lymph nodes removed 3 weeks ago. I had my results which are all clear but I'm struggling a bit with coming to terms with it all.  I am extremely uncomfortable around my scar and it hurts to wear a bra,,  I'm not sure if its slightly swollen or if its what is left of the breast.  Has anyone else had this issue after surgery please.

  • Hi , i had right breast mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Its very early stage after such a big surgery and i still wearing sports bra and i find it very comfortable. At hospital they give me front fastening bra but i dont feel comfortable so i choose sports bra with lots of elastic and padded cups . Congratulations with good results!!!lymph nodes clear in my case its same . Iam just about to start chemo on 20 th April . What its your next step ? I wish you all the best in this journey x Zana

Thank you for the reply, what is the best sports bra please, I'm a 36d so any help and advice would be great. I wont be having any treatment thank God but might have to go on Tamoxifen I will know on the 14th april. I hope all goes well with the chemo and your journey goes well too xxx

  • Hey, im also 36D so i bought Calvin Klein invisible lighty lined bralette size L, usually i will go for M but because of surgery i dont like any pressure under my breast. What kind of cancer did you had and how its yours HER2? I had IDC grade3 , 10 mm and Her 2 positive, because of HER2 positive i will have 12 weeks chemo weekly. Just want to finish everything asap and move on with my life. Have a beautiful easter  xx
