Hi, new to group and looking for some reassurance.

I have my wig consultation next week via video call.
ive already had my long hair cut short in preparation but am worried how to choose a wig via video and how to get the colour right.  Is it possible?

thanks

  • Hi Sue,

I’m probably not going to be much help as I had face to face consultations for my wig. I did video call my daughter as she had to be able to give her opinion! I picked 3 different wigs so had a choice but it was only in the actual trying on that I could really see and feel how they fitted. Will you be able to send them back when you’ve tried them on?

I do really like my wig!

I don’t know. I hope so.  Not had a face to face with anybody since my diagnosis mid Feb.

    Hiya,

I bought mine online. There are a few companies that will allow you to return them providing you do not change the style and use wig cap to prevent hair getting on them-simply wigs are one but they are pricey.

I ended up buying from mimo wigs. They were recommended by Jon renau and have to say Michelle was so helpful. They do not accept returns though so need to make sure it's the right one. They are also so much cheaper than other companies.make sure you do your vat exempt on it.

Good luck. I found it really difficult to find one that was similar to my hair but it is quite long and more or less ringlets

  • Hi Sue,

Yes, I’ve been a lot more cautious since diagnosis. My wig consultation was 2 weeks post chemo and masks were worn.

My wig was on prescription (therefore free). The make was René of Paris, you can buy them online.
