Hello to all
not sure if this is the correct place to post but here goes ......
in august last year, I started experiencing breast discomfort in my left breast. On examination, no lumps or other visible symptoms were present. I ignored this for a few weeks until I made appt with GP. They were not overly worried but referred me to breast specialist nurse, due to my mum passing away from TNBC 18 months ago. The nurse examined me and found nothing of concern but sent me for mammogram to put my mind at ease. All normal results.
the breast pain turned to axillary/ shoulder pain with a tightness in my breast, which didn’t ease. GP sent me for blood tests - all normal and referred me back to breast clinic. I saw a consultant who examined me and wasn’t clinically concerned but thought he felt a nodular area on my left upper quadrant. I was sent for ultrasound 6 weeks afterwards. This revealed ‘tiny’ cysts in the outer area of my breast but all normal. I have since had one bout of spontaneous discharge ( small amount inside bra)
I should be totally reassured but the discomfort is getting unbearable to the point that I dread wearing a bra or being accidentally knocked or touched.....
please can anyone offer any advice of what to do or anything that can put my mind at ease.
I have tried the usual evening primrose, cold compress, hot water bottle.
I am 40 years old
Thankyou ️
Definitely go back and see your GP and get another referral. Nipple discharge was what I had and due to that my cancer was picked up early. I am 67 so over the menopause. I was told there was nothing there on my first hospital referral, but a few months later after another referral my cancer was picked up. Good luck.
Thankyou for your response
I am booked in to see consultant for a routine appointment on 16th April. My mammogram was in sept and my ultrasound was only 10 days ago, so I have already been back for a second time! I won’t feel like I’m wasting their time as I’ve tried everything that has been suggested. Just hopefully, the discomfort will resolve
