Hi I’ve just been diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer and am waiting for mri scan then surgery end of April. I’m so worried it has spread. I lost my husband 8 months ago and my young ones are still dealing with that and then this happens.
Hi Nicky
I have also recently been diagnosed with breast cancer & Lymph node cancer which is aggressive & not possible to have surgery until after 6 months of Chemo, which i have started. I really feel for you as i convinced myself that i had cancer elsewhere, i had a CT with contrast Dye which confirmed my Lymph node cancer & its size.
You are going through so much but i would say try and stay focused as i created so much more stress & anxiety for myself! We have also had 2 very close family bereavements in the last 2 weeks ...just when i thought things couldnt get any worse.
I would say take each day as it comes, create your own group of people you want to tell to support you and i have just started using a free counsellor from our local breast nurse referral to keep me focused as its very hard to put yourself first right now but you need 'to be kind to yourself'.
Bless you thats so hard for your children, mine are finding it hard but they are very supportive & going through this with me.

I too had invasive lobular cancer with lymph nodes affected. My lumps were quite large and I had a mastectomy with lymph node removal. I too was concerned that it had spread because my mother died of lung cancer when she was the same age as I am now. It's funny how our minds work. Fortunately, my CT scan showed it hadn't spread and I am now undergoing radiotherapy to mop up any cells which may have escaped. If you don't have lymph node involvement, you may not have chemo because apparently chemo doesn't work very well with lobular cancer. Please try not to worry too much and wait for your results to come through so you know what you have to worry about. Sending virtual hugs and best wishes for your future treatment.
