Hello, my name is Linda and I was diagnosed with breast cancer last Tuesday. I have a follow up appointment on the 16th March.
I feel in total shock and don't know what to expect. I have a cancerous lump measuring 6mm and pre-cancerous calcification in the same breast.
Hi Linda,
I’m very recently diagnosed too so don’t know how much help I can be.
The wait is the worst I think as you can’t keep your mind from racing and Dr Google is not your friend!
The Drs could tell from clinical signs and ultrasound (before histology from biopsies) that my cancer was locally advanced so I was progressed threw quickly (thankfully).
Even then I was reassured that there would, most likely, be active treatment available. There was! As a discovered after my CT scan.
I’ve already had 1 chemo, it actually wasn’t too bad.
This time will be really hard for you, maybe the hardest but, I think, once you get your treatment plan, you will feel better.
Bluebell xx
Thank you so much for your reply. I have a follow up appointment on the 16th March where I will find out my treatment plan. I think it will be a mastectomy as I have it in 2 places.
Might not be. I have it in two places too. I’m having chemo first. See how much it shrinks then decide what surgery is needed.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
