Hello, I'm new to this forum
Hi Breast17 welcome to the forum. I wonder if you felt able to tell us a bit more about yourself and we can see if there is anything that we could do to help or post you to the right place on the site for you to get the support that you need.
The group of drugs which Anastrozole belongs to can cause many different side effects some more troublesome than ohters but the main one that everyone knows about is Bony pain and stiffness in the joints . Is this what is happening for you.? xxx
Hi Gail,
I had routine mammogram in 2017, not expecting anything bad, I had stage 2, hormone receptive cancer. I had surgery and radiotherapy for a month every day.
The worst for me was being strapped to the bed for the radiotherapy, I hate being confined and suffer with claustrophobia.
Happily I'm on my 4th year all clear but now the effects of the medication anastrozole have made other problems.
I have vulval atrophy and lichen scherosis, everyday itching nd soreness which has destroyed any love life, so sad as I'm only 54 and have been married for 32 years.
The cure is hormone replacement which I can't have, I've tried lots of different creams but nothing helps.
My gynecologist says it's cruel but not a lot he can suggest. He is trying to talk to other doctors about a cream that can repair skin with no hormone, so I'm waiting for more information on that.
I wondered if anyone else has gynae problems from the treatment after breast cancer.
