Bra Recommendations for asymmetry - what works well?

Hi all,

After treatment, my left breast is smaller and higher up than the right one.

Has anyone found any good bras that hide this?

What makes have you found to be really good? Or what styles work best  - e.g. moulded cups, padded, plunge etc?

I've currently got bras with removeable pads and just keep the pad in one side. But wearing out now, and looking to splurge on some new bras.

Many thanks.

  • Hi Louise, I have a similar problem but just manage in the same way as you or go uneven, so interested to know if anyone has any better suggestions. I find it particularly difficult with impact sports. Interested to know if this has been managed differently or there are bras that can help. X

  • Ive found this too. Plunge bras are a definite no-no, as they really show up the difference.  There's a really good underwear shop not too far from me, so im going  to make an appointment and see what she comes up with.

I'm a  DD cup and so need good support, and am trying to keep away from underwires, as they dig into my scar.  However I end up with some of my boob under my arm without wires lol.   I tend to still wear my post surgery bras when im not going out ( and when working from home) but they dont give a great shape.  I do think the mouded cups are more forgiving tho.  And you can of course pad one cup out. There's a firm called Evenly who do an insert.

Be interesting to hear what others have found good x

  • Hi

Do you have a boutique bra shop in your area?  The reason I suggest this is that small bra shops have specialised staff. We have one in my town and although it was expensive, oh my! the service was phenominal.  I went before breast cancer, but the assistant was with me for ages measuring all aspects of my chest area to get the right size for me.  I strongly suspect that they would also have a good knowledge of post surgery bras too.

Marks and Spencers also have specialised fitters for post surgery bras and.  Might be worth contacting your local M&S to see if you have one in yours.

Also, any post surgery bras should be free of VAT.

    Kindest wishes, Lesley
