Hi. I was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer on 17th October. I start chemo on 14th November. I am 59. My mother died of breast cancer aged 36. Is there anyone here with the same cancer who would be willing to share their experience, please? Many thanks.
Hi @ Picklelassd0b31f
Sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer and very sorry to hear that you lost your mother at young age.
This is a much busier group that the inflammatory breast group, but I've included a link to it for you to join. However, by replying to your post (I had ER+ breast cancer), it is boosting it back to page 1 and someone will be around to share a more information with you.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
My mother also died of breast cancer (not IBC). I was diagnosed with IBC in January 2020. Stage 3, HER2+. I had TCHP chemo, a non-skin sparing mastectomy and lymph node clearance, 15 x radiotherapy with a bolus (jelly sheet) and a further 9 months of the H&P targeted treatment element. It was a long treatment plan but it got me to 'no evidence of disease'. The treatment sounds daunting at the beginning and one of the worst bits is the time between diagnosis and starting treatment. I coped better once treatment started. I also got amazing support from the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK, which has an online support group.
