Hi,
I’m a 29 year old mum to a 9 month old riot. I have breast cancer, still going through treatment and just looking for someone in a similar position to myself who i can chat to about anything and everything!Whether it’s a moan about cancer or kids or check in on each other and have a laugh ️
Thanks for the reply. Yeah doing as well as I can be very positive that I will beat this. But I am just trying to find as much information on the immunotherapy chemo. I really want everything going to give me the best chance but I am concerned that I will be left with a lot of side effects such as organ damage or thyroid issues etc. Obviously staying alive and trying to limited it going any further is my main goal but I can’t help be conscious of these side effects. I’ve been told I’ve stage 3 grade 3. I am basically trying to see if how many people did get side effects and how permanent were these etc.
I'm nowhere near 29, nearly double. In fact my kids are older too. But if you ever want to off load?
In fact IF ANYONE WANTS TOO, just message me.
I'm a breast cancer survivor (to be, I hope). Inflammatory currently in chemo, epirubicin and cyclophosphamide I've had my 2nd, 2 more to go and then Paclitaxel x12.
As for sense of humour...
Keep well everyone (and that's a order!) Love & hugs xxx
I was diagnosed stage 2, grade 3. Most TNBC are grade 3 so that’s quite normal.
In relation to side effects every one is different - you’re more than likely going to get something.
I started having immuno but it affected my liver so got stopped. Had 5 weeks of steriods as it was inflamed.
Chemo - there was all different side effects but most have gone now. So I just had them while having the chemo. It was a right mixture.
Hair loss was near enough straight away for me about 2 weeks in and I did the cold cap.
Again, everyone is diff but most people I know lost their hair.
Dodgy bowels, mouth issues, loss of taste, bone pain, fatigue.
Depends which way round you have it. I had pac/carbo and then EC.
I was also hospitalised with suspected neutropenic sepsis but luckily it wasn’t sepsis but just low neutropenia.
You have bloods loads so are constantly monitored. Expect delays. Most people I know has had delays for one reason or another.
Are you having a PICC line fitted? I would suggest you have one as it makes treatment so much easier.
Annoying when you can’t shower properly cos you can’t get it wet but manageable. Loved mine!
Don’t be frightened of any of this - all pretty normal on immuno/chemo… xx
Thank you so much for your information. I trying to prepare myself as much as possible for the side effects the hair loss is probably the one that least concerns me for some reason but it will all be hopefully be worth it as to get rid of the horrible thing. X
