Ok so chemo 2 nailed and now to get stymie- reckon I’ll shave it this week and im not going to cry! Got some looks sorted for baldness and want to buy a wig or two for variety.

  1. Should I go all out £5/600 and get human hair?
  2. do some cheaper ones work just as well and I could get a few???
  3. My hair has always grown slowwwwwly and has take about 7 years to get to how it is now which actually I like . What irony.

but I’m seeing it as an opportunity!
any recommendations gratefully received!

TIA

  • Hi Golightly, sorry you're having such a tough time with chemo and hair loss. The hair loss is so difficult for many of us.

I hope that you feel some relief after your hair cut. I found it a bit of a relief when I shaved my head.

    Sending warm hugs, Shaka

  • Hi Leelaloo, I was similar. Very long hair and cut it short after my first chemo round. The scalp pain as my hair shed was intense, so I shaved it all off. What a relief that was!

I wore a synthetic wig for months.

Now I'm 5mths post chemo and stopped wearing my wig a month ago. I think it's only now that the reality of losing my long hair is hitting home. I don't recognise the woman in the mirror with the 'close crop'. I feel like I'm having to rework my whole image.

One of the many new beginnings after cancer.

    Peace, Shaka
