Has anybody tried Boost mastectomy breast forms have looked them up but would like to hear from someone who has used them before I decide to order as there are no local fitters near me.

Many thanks Skylark

  • Boost forms are excellent. They are lightweight and particularly good in the summer. Also for swimming.
    Lovely colours and washable.
I followed the sizing information and all good.

  • Thank you Lorna, do you use one yourself ?

I have a left sided mastectomy and I am still using the softie as I find the silicone one to be very heavy X

  • I love mine- ( left sided mastectomy Feb last year) I got it from my breast nurses when I said I wanted to go back to the gym- it’s light and comfortable against the skin. I don’t find it fits well in a pocket ( but that could be me) and I wear my silicone prosthesis for every day things. But the boost for exercising, swimming etc

  • That’s good to know but I was hoping to be able to wear it daily as I find the silicone one very heavy even though I am small breasted. The Boost cost £65 and there aren’t any fitters in my area.
    Thank you Xxx

  • I don’t see why you can’t wear it daily, own preference. I just find mine doesn’t fit inside the pocket of my bras as well as my silicone one. (And I’m more comfortable with that at work etc)  don’t really know why cause the boost stays in place when I’m on the treadmill!
Do your breast care nurses not offer it?  I didn’t get fitted she just ordered a size based off my silicone one. Xx

  • What part of the country are you in ? I live in West Lancs and I am under Clatterbridge Aintree.  Had not thought of asking the breast nurse as did not think they would supply them.

Will phone on Monday - I can only ask.

Thank you for your help it is much appreciated.  Xxx

  • I do have a boost. Had to order it myself however. I agree it’s harder to insert in some pockets but fit most. The biggest advantage is you are able to wear it next the skin as it can be washed in soapy water and dried with a towel so perfect for summer and activities. X

  • Thank you Jojodot will speak to the breast nurse on Monday and then consider ordering.  Glad it seems to be working for you. Xxx

  • Definitely worth an ask.
im in north wales, so could well be different here. X

  • Hi Whynot,

contacted the breast nurse and she said that they have heard of them but doesn’t have any information to offer as it’s not used in clinic.

was worth asking, Thank you for your help it is very much appreciated  Xxx
