I had a biopsy last Wednesday and they said it was most definitely cancer, I have just got an appointment through for 3rd October for results and I’m actually going insane waiting, I feel ill, I’m not sleeping, I’ve now got tinnitus in my ears constantly, I’m trying to hide it from my two young daughters until I know more. How do people cope? I’ve been signed off work due to having shingles so it’s just awful.
I agree with c22 that once you meet the team and everything is in motion you will feel more in control and all the support makes a difference.
The doctor at my call back appointment told me that I would get my official diagnosis at my appointment with surgeon when I got my biopsy results but her years experience told her it was cancer. From getting the call back letter I was constantly swinging between it was /wasn't cancer. I find the unknown harder to deal with so I was grateful she told me. Yes, I was devastated but she reassured me that it was caught early.
I'm so grateful to my cancer team for the skill, compassion and the tremendous level of support. Make use of all the support on offer, you've made a good start by coming on here.
take care x
