Hi
I'm 2 years after treatment for breast cancer, involving breast reduction in that breast and implant in the other. Microcalcifications just found on yearly mammogram, so a little fed up and concerned about this. Plan is to biopsy in a few days. Anyone else experienced this ? Finding it difficult to cope with the thought of yet more treatment, after carefully doing all the right things inc hormone therapy and radiotherapy. Seems to me to be 50/50 whether benign or not.
Hi JigJog I am delighted to say that the microcalcifications turned out to be benign dead cells sitting there after a lot of surgery so I was very very relieved. Had biopsy which was a vacuum biopsy where you lie on your tummy and dangle one breast in a hole while they Xray working from below and cut into the parts - there were 2 areas of concern - to remove some for Pathology to look at. Took 2 hours and was quite tortuous due to having to remain so still for so long.
Hi Venicelagoon, That's fantastic news! I was wondering how you'd got on. I'm over the moon for you.
The vacuum biopsy sounds daunting. I've not come across that before but it did the job and now you can move forward.
All the very best to you. Thanks so much for letting me know the outcome. You've made my day
