Hi all,
I have a smaller breast after removal of a 30mm tumour and a reexcision. Does anyone have experience of fat transfer to correct this. Were you pleased with the results? Where was the fat donor site - and any pain at this site afterwards or other issues to be aware of?
Thanks.

Hi - yes I had lipofilling but only because my skin had become very thin over my implant after radiation. Fat was removed from my stomach in two areas (nothing like the improvement here I was hoping for!!). There are two slight indents there now. It was injected into the area needed just under the skin over the implant. The rest of the fat harvested was sent to be stored as surgeon said I would need two or possibly three more sessions. I must admit I was very bruised all down my sides - possibly from being turned onto side during the process of fat removal. Then I had to wear a compression garment to hold stomach in for quite some time (about three weeks I think). In the end I didn't have any further injections of fat as I ended up needing the implant removed so have now gone flat. You normally need more than one session of injections because some of the fat gets absorbed. There wasn't really any pain from the doner site afterwards to speak of - just the bruising.
Hi
I have had 2 lots of lipo and refill to tweak shape after a DIEP. They took fat from my thighs. V small incision for needle although some spectacular bruising on donor site. Second time they took fat from inner thighs which was more painful than outer thighs, but pain due to bruising. Very good results.
Hi Louise42, I find myself in a similar situation to you. After 2 lumpectomys and a perforated Flap reconstruction on my left breast, my boob is at least 1 size smaller than my good right breast still. So I have been told to have lipo filling and await my op date. I know very little about it but understand that my stomach will be used as a donor site and I will probably need 3 or more operations to build it up gradually.
So I was wondering if you have had yours done yet and how did it go? Are you pleased with the results so far?
I hope you are doing well. Big hugs x
Hi Louise42
I had a meeting with my plastic surgeon yesterday.
I had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy two years ago. This has left me with a misshapen breast which is also 2 cup sizes smaller. I was told I will have fat taken from my thighs and a reduction on my good breast which I'm not happy with as I'm small breasted any way, so I am also interested in hearing what others have to say.

Hi Carolyn, I hope you are doing well. Whilst I can't answer any questions on Lipo filling yet I'm still waiting for my op dates but I would suggest you go back and explain you don't want your good one reduced. My surgeon also gave me that as an option but I explained I didn't want to mess about with my healthy breast and would rather him work on my disfigured breast, my surgeon was very understanding and said he would just focus on the side of my breast cancer.
I see most are having fat taken from their thigh but I was told mine would be from the fat above my belly button, I wonder if that will change over the next couple of operations. Have you been told how many operations you will need?
I wish you well. Let us know how it goes.
I'm still waiting for my 1st operation, I had my pre op 4 weeks ago so assumed I would have a date by now but I know they are so busy.
Take care of yourself. Sue x
Hi Kate2125,
Like you I was wondering what I needed to buy in preparation for the operation. I read about compression garments but I have not been told by my consultant that I need any or even what bras to wear. I was hoping to chat to someone on here that has had the same procedure as me but there seems to be very few people out there that have had the same op, so I feel like I'm going in blind I guess.
I hope it all goes well for you.
Take care
sue x
