Is there new data on recurrence / survival rates?

I’m just wondering if there is any recently released data on recurrence and survival rates? We are always being told that the data is out of date, partly because it’s  based on patients who were diagnosed several years ago, and partly because there are more modern treatments. It would be good to see if things have improved post diagnosis in very recent years. MacMillan, could you help if no-one on this forum knows? Thank you!!

  • I think that they look at 5, 10, 15 year statistics and have to then process it.  Breast Predict do update as it comes in.  When I started chemo in July 2019 by benefit at 10 years was 4%. 4 months in I looked and it had been updated to 3.6%.

  • ONS had an older data set by type over 15 yrs, but now moved to public health.  Couldn’t find the data there.

  • Thank you Megan for this. I was just interested to see if there was more recent data, perhaps that had been released by Cancer Research UK for example, or another data collecting body. There is useful information for us all in your reply, so thank you for taking the time to write this.
