Hi all, hoping someone can help. I'm looking for some recommendations for an Organic factor 50 suncream. Before BC treatment and radiotherapy I used 30spf from The Green People as I get prickly heat and that worked brilliantly but they don't do 50spf. Been advised to avoid sun as much as possible and use 50spf, but hubby booked a mini break in Jersey for August as a treat after crappy year so far so need to be extra careful. Any recommendations welcome. Hope you're all doing okay.
Thanks x
A sunscreen with SPF 30 will protect you from around 96.7% of UVB rays, whereas an SPF of 50 means protection from about 98% of UVB rays. Anything beyond SPF 50 makes very little difference in terms of risk of sun damage, and no sunscreens offer 100% protection from UVB rays.
I have sensitive skin and I used to burn and react with nasty sun rash with factor 30 on my body but didn't burn or get rash if I used factor 15 oil but I had to constantly reapply. I seem to have outgrown it and use factor 30 now except on my leg as they don't catch sun.
There really is v little difference. Tropic sunscreen lasts for ages. It’s in a tube rather than a bottle which means it runs out everywhere if you aren’t prepared. I have found it to be good. There’s a handbag sized one for the face which is less thick and a bit thinner though still factor 50 and is easy to apply.
