Hi
I am now beginning to get some hair returning after 5 months of chemo I am getting braver now and have ditched the wig, mainly due to heat.
Does anyone know if and when you can colour your hair either semi permanent or permanent?
It is so soft like baby hair and I do not want it to fall out or damage what hair I now have.
Any advice welcome and hope you are all doing ok on this rocky road xx
I’ve just started getting a thick thatch of hair back, but it was 50% grey so was hard to tell how much it was growing. So I got a semi permanent colour and used a third of it to darken my (naturally dark brown) hair and it was good! It covered it all up so that my scalp (well not scalp, just grey patches) wasn’t showing and it seem ok, it’s still growing and looks better for it. Just look for one that says “no ammonia” and lasts 28 washes! If your hair was fine and delicate before maybe be careful but my was thick and still is. Good luck xx
Hi, my hairdresser was happy to do it 6 months after chemo. To be honest, I took the view that I needed to feel good about my hair (hate the regrowth, hate the dark curly grey!) and decided damaging it was the least of my worries! Best wishes
