Any advice for bruised arms and sore veins after chemo? Really sore and bruised with raised veins after last EC chemo.
I had a Port that doesn’t work. So they are removing it and putting a PICC line instead as I go to weekly paxitacol chemo in a few weeks.
any wisdom much appreciated! This round hit harder and has knocked me about a bit.
Hi I had EC x 6 via cannula after no.2 I had sore lumpy veins onco unperturbed said it was thrombo phlebitis and prescribed a extra saline flush after each infusion .
This vein flush eased the discomfort but it did take a while after finishing chemo for track marks and lumps to go .
Hi Faith, I also suffered this with EC on the second infusion I asked for a heat pad which they put on my forearm, I kept it on all day until I had a bath later that night, and it really made a difference.
Take care D x
Thank you. I’ll give that a try. Appreciate you replying
My forearms were generally sore after each round of chemotherapy about a week after for a few days. I found the three cycles of Docetaxel worse. I have finished chemotherapy now but have noticed that all my muscles have become tight and my hands and feet are swollen too. Oncologist couldn't say why though. Hoping it will pass as just another side effect thing!
