Hi, my invasive was 20mm grade 2 her2 positive, hormone positive. I had surgery first. Had a theraputic mammoplasty with reduction on other side. They removed my breast cancer with safe margins, and my lymph nodes was clear. They could not get clear margins on my area of dcis which is intermediate grade 2. I then went on to chemo. Had 3 x ec found that not to bad. Then went onto docetaxol with my first herceptin. Had a reaction to docetaxol so then went onto weekly paclitaxel which I found better. Still having herceptin but next week I am having a masectomy with a tissue expander fitted then radiotherapy. What is yr treatment plan xxx
Shaz,
Been told 6 chemo 1 every 3 weeks and herceptin ,then a lumpectomy, theyve mentioned 2 lymph gland removed then radiotherapy.
Think mine is 15mm
Youve had a time of it havent you?
My first chemo is 27th april and its the part im dreading,i hate needles so it will be awful for me
I will have to get the strength from somwhere
Xx
Hi, you will get the strength. Didn't find chemo to bad. Didn't get no infections my bloods were fine all the way through. Tbe reaction was skin reaction on my hands. Not a common one my oncologist said. I was rested for a week then started on paclitaxel which I found fine. On herceptin injections now which are fine. How many herceptin are you having. Had 2 heart scans so far they have been fine and an ecg for my pre op which was okay. My dcis didn't show on scans because it's not high grade so they didn't know to my first surgery the size of my dcis. So surgery next for me then radiotherapy then treatment finished xxx
Hi Dee Dee,
I have a heart scan next week too. I also have herceptin, honestly the first time it stung a tiny bit but since then it really hasn’t been that bad. One of the weeks I barely even felt it. You will get through it, it may not feel it now but you will. And we are all here for you. It’s a shit situation that we’ve all found ourselves in but we will all get it done and then carry on with our lives xx
You must let go of your feelings. It is hard but you will do this. My symptoms started 4 days after my dad passed. Was nipple discharge could not feel a lump. Was grieving for my dad so dont think my diagnosis really hit me. Then 2 weeks after my chemo finished we had another sudden unexpected bereavement. The funeral was 2 days ago and I really let go of my feelings then. Now my diagnosis has finally hit me but my oncologist is positive and my breast surgeon so will go with the positive and keep strong. When I heard chemo I was petrified but what I would say and everyone is different is that its doable and your team will be with you all the way. xxx
Hi Tizzy and Seaside
Glad to hear are both doing well. I'm having a good few days too . My 3rd Chemo should have been Tuesday but delayed till next Tuesday due to a suspected tummy bug, but actually it all settled down pretty quickly. So I'm making the most of my good days.. up to now I only get about 3 or 4.
Seaside hope you enjoyed your walk with your girls
Tizzy, you're not the only one fed up if this covid thing. I'm doing the same with lft and taking extra precautions of self isolation, just to be on the safe side. I had to stay at home while my family went off to a pub for lunch to celebrate my husband's 60h birthday. But I suppose it's better safe than sorry, after all it is bank holiday weekend.
Hope everyone has a good Easter and are able to enjoy the good weather ️ xzx
