Terrified

  • Hello Nas

All of us here have felt exactly the same at some point. Good that you are here. You will find that the ladies are a great source of support and knowledge and will be here to help you through.

Keep in touch and welcome to the club that we would all rather not have joined.

    Wishing you all the best

  • ......sorry you had to find us but welcome. This is a scary time and we all understand how you feel. Once things start,  most of us feel a bit more in control but with every new appointment comes the 'fear of the unknown'. It won't matter how many times things get described to you, until you experience them for yourself, they are frightening.

Perhaps you would like to tell us a bit more about yourself and the things you currently know about your situation?.  Is something particularly terrifying you or is it everything? It doesn't matter which. I have memories of fear for a number of procedures and unfortunately I didn't find this site for several months into treatment so I simply had to guess what was going to happen. Of course doctors explain......but they can't tell you what it will feel like , can they?

Finally, just to reassure you that the treatment is often sucessful, mine was in 2015 and my last mammogram was still clear.

Keep in touch. Use the Awake thread if you want company at night or often a laugh. We have learnt that laughter helps to distract from the fear.......

    Take care. Love Karen
