Hi everyone

Just started letrozole 2 months ago and feel my body is ceased up  lower back  left knee left hand and wrist had 2 lumpectomy s  and  mastectomy having expander done at present   then reconstruction next year maybe August time question  is should I be looking to change letrozole for something else or does it settle down after a while

       Thanks    keep strong everyone

  • Hi Apple, I felt the same as you when I started, and I had seen a lot of comments on here about the difference in side affects depending on the brand your on. The Accord seems to work The best for most people. Get your doctors to print off your prescription, then call round pharmacist to see who's got the accord in stock before handing your prescription over. Try it, it was life changing for me.

  • Hi Apple. I've been on Accord brand for 18 months. I'm 66  and still working, albeit now part time.  My joints are stiff when I first stand up if ive sat for a while, but no actual pain-and it wears off once I get moving.  I wasn't like this before letrazole.

Hair thinning has been a bit harsh, but has settled down. My worst side effect is intimate dryness

Accord brand is definitely worth a try

  • I too had Accord brand, just asked my GP to request it on the prescription and the chemist got it. I’d done some research and I think that brand was closest to the original, trade name Femara.

I too had aches which tended to ease once I began my day. I had 3 years on that, 2on Tamoxifen and am now 2 years on Exemestane after a recurrence. Yes, the aches aren’t easy to cope with but cope with it I need to as it’s the best way of helping prevent further problems.
