Hi. I finished a 5 day intensive radiotherapy course 6 weeks ago. All been fine but now I have a rash abit itchy and skin red. I also have a very tender top of my chest on both sides that goes onto my neck both sides. Only had right chest area done. I’m also rather tired which I wasn’t after the treatment. Is it normal for side effects to appear 6 weeks on ? Thanks for reading. X

  • Hello. Yes is the answer. I finished 6 weeks ago too. Physio told me its still early stages as issues can raise even up to 6 months after. I was quite itchy and resorted to hydrocortisone which they recommended. I now have cording and swelling which the physio is helping with.  I did bemoan that not really had follow up and that I wish they had told me more about side effects. Appreciate we won't all get them but when we do, its good to know that it is normal. I'm tired but thats cos my sleep is crap! Keep moisturising x
