Was anyone told the results of bone scan there and then?  I have just had mine and not tiold anything.  Anxious +++

  • Hi Mel28 welcome to the forum and sadly no we don't get the results there and then but they will go back to your GP practice and should in theory be there in the next week . Why were you having the Bone Scan in the first instance?

  • I had a positive lymph node so was referred for bone scan and ct scan x

  • I had same referrals as you and was told the results of the scans the next time I saw the surgeon.

  • It's so scary and my anxiety is through the roof  Lying on the couch when they scan you thinking what have they found now.  Trying to gage their expressions to see if you can tell what they are thinking x

  • Nope, I got all the scan results at my next consultant appointment with the surgeon. I did get a hint from my BCN  that I wash to worry, as all the way through the trsts I was terrified that they would find more.

  • What is your actual diagnosis Mel?They do bone scans a lot,if you are going to be put on inhibitors tablets,as these can affect the bones,so they like a scan to see we’re your at re.bone density.Lots of us here are on the inhibitors and have had the bone scan, but you could ask the nurse if this is the reason.x

  • forgot to add Mel,I had to wait until my next appointment which was roughly 2weeks after scans.

  • Grade 2 IDC with DCIS was initial diagnosis then MRI scan showed more abnormalities in breast and lymph nodes so had extra biopsies which where positive so had mastectomy last Friday with axillary clearance and bone scan and ct scan was arranged. It is just an anxious time as everytime I have been to see the consultant, there is something else added following further investigations and it is so hard to remain positive x

  • Hope your recovering well from the opp,bit of a long haul, one step at a time so you can spend your energy on recovering from what you have had already,You will find out soon enough your results, but for now put your energy into recovering.

    Xx

  • Don't confuse thr Dexa scan with the nuclear one.
