I have recently started taking tamoxifen 20mg daily. I take it in the morning but have found I am now up during the night visiting the toilet. Has anyone else had this and would I be better taking the tablet at night
I started mine in the morning but on an empty stomach I often woke up feeling sick. After 5 weeks I switched to night. Much better. I sometimes still get up to pee at night - depends what I've eaten and how late I've drunk tea. You do need to give it a couple of weeks to get in system so if morning taking is not for you then switch to night and see how you go - all you can do is try. good luck x
I've been on it since June , I take at night up once in night , but he ho it's something we have to get use to. I was advised to drink a lot of water through the day to help
I have just posted so where els on her, meaning different page then saw the page,so reckon this is the right one for me as today,I took my first Tamoxifen,I always get up in the night for the loo,so hoping it won,t make much difference for me.So far seems you all prefer nighttime for taking it,my oncologist said if I take at night would probably wake up with stiffness maybe in hands of whatever, but from what I ha e read,I will probably get the stiffness anyway,Have any of you suffered with the joint pain, mood swings,or anything else?
got my date for radiotherapy too, start on 15th Nov.x
Just replied to you on the Oestrogen reducing medications page. Joints a little achy but that's cos its damp weather and I always struggle when it gets cold! x
So otherwise not bad then.?I will also bare in mind to take at bedtime if it gives me problems, guess it,s a waiting game until it gets into my system.God I feel like I am poisoning my body, what sticks in my throat is the length of time we have to be on them, but hay goo,has to be done.x
Just read your other post lol,my Tamoxifen are small,on the box it says Relon Chem,x
I was very anxious about pill taking but touch wood, I don't seem to be suffering that much. Yes I get the odd hot flush and swollen ankles but from what I've seen others write with other drugs I think I'm ok. The pill is smarties sized and now I know this one is ok, I make sure the brand is on prescription and pharmacist knows too x
Hi, been on it now for 18 months, I started taking in the morning but it make me feel sick. So I have with my tea, I suffer with being cold during the day & hot at night. But have noticed I am slightly better when I actually have it with food. When I see my consultant in December I am going to ask if the being hot is down to my age plus the meds, most nights I have to spend a penny too.
