Hi been switched to Exemestane after Letrozole gave me bad joint pains following lumpectomy & radiotherapy 6 months ago. Been on it almost 2 months but the side effect are still bad terrible night sweats insomnia depression do they ever get easier??
I was told to give exemestane 6 months for things to settle down. I noticed more joint pain and stiffness but that has settled down a bit. I put my hot flushes and night sweats down to the sudden medical menopause, and things have eased with that too.
For hot flushes, I take sage tablets which have defintey helped. Recommended by my BCN
For insomnia, this has settled a bit for me but I have found doing the odd guided meditation via an app helps, and I have now found som to drift off to sleep with - this really helps getting to sleep, but also seems to help when you wake in the night as you remember the guided meditation.
Night sweats also wake me and kee me awake so anything to get cooler - at this time of year a bit easier as it s cold outside so just getting out of bed and walking around can help, but I also have a fan and a chillow
For depression, I exercise and keep up with my hobbies. If I don't, I notice a mental dip.
