Good evening
I have completed my fourth round of chemo two weeks ago so next Thursday will be round 5 I now have what feels like a cold. Some discomfort in the throat but not too bad and no fever.
i just want to find out how others have managed their colds while 9n chemo? I am a little worried that it is going to get worse. I suppose the saving grace is that I am over my nadir but still feel worried.
Suppose we can't avoid life. I have a 13 year old who brought home a bad cold from school. Covid tests are negative too. I just want to get over it so that I can have my penultimate round next week
Any advice would be very welcome and much appreciated
Thank you
Wendy
Hi there, sorry, I didn't (luckily) have any illnesses whilst in chemo, but my reply will bump your post to the top of the list again so hopefully someone else will spot it and answer. Take care
Hi Wendy,
Are you having Docetaxel or similar? I think some of the taxel chemos can cause cold and flu symptoms so it’s difficult to know if it’s chemo or an actual cold. I had a cough and regular sore throat / sniffles throughout the second half of my chemo and I still get some ‘fluey’ days now even though chemo is done.
I hope it settles for you. Rest, drink plenty and lemsip. I found when I had those kind of days that I just needed to stop.
Ruby xx
