Hi all, I hope everything is going ok today for you all.
today is the day that I get my first breast clinic appointment after 2 weeks of the doctor confirming there is a lump.
Ive been absolutely terrified and I’m still terrified. I also have an awful cough after this 2 week long crazy cold. COVID tested all negative but hate coughing in public because people look at you as if you have COVID So that isn’t in my favour either.
is there any tips on this appointment anyone can share? Does it hurt? And I have a really stupid question, small boob ladies like myself, how do they do the bit that squeezes your breasts if you hardly have anything? I’ve wondered that and feel nervous about it. Just want it to all be over now
Hi Worried 32yo, hope you will get this in time for your appt, it can be very uncomftable but can hurt a bit, they will probably take a few pics and they may take a biopsy which does not hurt as you will be given pain relief, I also had a marker put in my breast when they took the biopsy and was warned before I left that they thought it was cancer. The main thing to remember is that fairly soon, if not today, you will be getting answers, the waiting is the hardest. I will be thinking of you today and will look for your update when you hopefully have good news to share. Love from Ann
Hello Ann
Thank you for your message, I’m going to go in and try to be positive. I’ve not googled what happens in the breast clinic because I’d rather just go in and get this done without more worry. Id rather speak to people who have been through it. And thank you for your honesty and I am so please the biopsy doesn’t hurt. I have a big needle phobia and I can pass out over a routine blood test. Thank you and my app is at 3pm. I will post an update afterwards. Take care x Sherry
My advice, take someone with you, if you can Even if they can’t come in, you have someone to drive you home. Good luck x
Hi irishgirl16, unfortunately I don’t have my hubby he’s at work and there is nobody else that can spare 3 hours today. They said lithe app can take up to 3 hours. So I’ll have to brave this one alone I think and thank you x
You will be fine a few painless tests and you will be done . Take care at least today you will know if you need any treatment for the lump and if you do they will be able to help you

Seeing your post today and know exactly what you are feeling before your clinic. I am thinking about you and hope things are ok for you today also xxx
I’m out, I was in 40 mins in total. I was felt by the doctor, he said it feels like glandular tissue and sent me for a scan, I had a scan and they said it looks like breast tissue and it’s different to the other breast because everyone is different. And they discharged me and sent me on my way. Feeling a bit confused as I can absolutely feel a lump in there but I guess I’ll take it as it’s normal to have a lump there sometimes. Baffled but relieved but also worried they have missed something.
I’ll keep an eye on any changes I think, but hoping it’s all ok as they said.
a big thank you for you all pushing me on to get through it. It really was a shock when it was over so quickly. I’ve been so worried for nothing. But strangely don’t feel like they have checked it enough x
