Hi , has anyone else had an excision on the lower part of the breast , under the nipple? I had WAE 4 weeks ago and it looks like a huge chunk taken, but as I have very large heavy breasts the remaining weight is above the incision and it’s been so painful. I’ve actually put soft material in the place where the flesh is missing to help support it. The pain and discomfort wasn’t aided by the fact that I couldn’t get a suitable bra with a big enough cup size, that would also contain my ‘side boob’ which was where I hade the sentinel nodes cut out too. I bought several bras , from M&S, from cancer research and from other bra manufacturers that claimed to sell bras for larger ladies, but seemed to only have cup sizes G, H and J in sizes like 32, 34 or 36!!!!
The first fortnight after surgery was agonising but with the use of some soft bed socks strategically placed ( tip off this forum) the last two weeks is a little better.
I just haven’t heard anyone else say that their excision was in this lower area and that they have large heavy breasts too? The side boob has made the Sentinal node surgery worse too as that area bulges and my arm can’t lie flat against it ( heart shaped cushion helped here and I’ve been glued to it, but can’t really take it out and about!)
would just like to hear from someone else that has had/got the same issues?
Thanks
DaisyQ
Hi I don't have large breasts and didn't have the problem you have but what might be worth looking at is the Reko bra. My surgeon strongly recommend this as his choice for post surgery bras and i think they should come in a large enough size for you. I still wear mine 9 months on since my surgery. They are a bit pricey but you should get lots of use out of them. I bought two so I can wear one while I wash the other but they don't take long to dry so you could go for one and see how you find it.
Hope this helps otherwise by me replying to you it will bump you back up to the top of the list where someone who can help you more might see it this time.

Hope you find a good solution to the issue you're having.
Hi Godwilling, thank you for replying. I’m guessing that not many people have shared my issue, as there’s been no other replies.
Thanks for your recommendation but actually that is one of the bras I bought. The XXL was barely big enough before surgery and was tight and uncomfortable after because of the amount of swelling on the breast from the quite large excision, and the underarm cutting in across the Sentinal Node Biopsy cut. This biggest size was probably only an Eor F cup in reality, and didn’t allow any cup for ‘side boob’. It was one of the great purchasing disappointments!
The first three weeks post surgery was terrible but I’ve now bought a Molke brand bra which is actually a good fit - If only I’d found it earlier.
thanks again, I really appreciate you spending time replying
