Hi Everyone, just wondering if anyone on here has been prescribed the above from their Doctor if they are struggling to cope emotionally?  My doctor has suggested I try these as the last few weeks for me have been hell? I hope to start my Chemo Treatment in the next few weeks and I have not been coping to well?  Be interested to hear if anyone has taken them and how they work and if and when they felt any difference.

Take care everyone and thanks for listening.

  • I’ve been in 20mg per day of Citralopram for years, to help with chronic pain and mood. I find it really helps and at that dose I don’t really get any side effects. It does kick your butt if you miss a dose though - headaches and dizziness I get. But only at 20mg. At 10mg I didn’t notice. Everyone is different but it’s perhaps worth a try.

Yes I had them not for my cancer , but 2 years ago  for anxiety , they are  mild non addictive . They are very affective they do take a few weeks to work . I had other anxiety medication for breast cancer that would work a bit quicker .

    Cheers

I didn't get any side effects and I was on 10 mg   They  often prescribe 40mg for some patients. You will probably be fine on 10 mg and as they are for your treatment you will be able to come off them when you are  finished quite easily I think you reduce your intake for a few days with the doctors help  when you ready to come off the.

  • Hi I started taking them after diagnosis and found they helped a lot .  Started of on 10mg and did feel calmer quite quickly and then upped to 20 mg but can’t say I noticed any difference at the higher dose.  No side effects at all.

  • Thanks Everyone really appreciate your advice.  Take care
