Hi I had a mastectomy in May and had expander placed as part of first stage of reconstruction. The expander has been so uncomfortable and painful. It even feels hard in places like the liquid has gone hard. Also the port has turned around. There has been unusual sensation like numbness hard to discribre. Was wondering if anyone in this forum has had similar experience and how long it lasts for.
Hi I have no experience of this so I don't know what is and isn't normal but to me it seems like you should contact your surgeon or breasc care nurse and tell them everything you have written above. It's better to be safe than sorry and generally if something feels a bit off to you then there is a reason you feel that way and it's best to let your medical team know about it. If something isn't quite right the earlier you tell them the better.
Hopefully it's all normal or easily remedied.
