Feeling a little  overwhelmed.

I have surgery on Tuesday for both breasts. Cancer is small and caught early but I have calcifications which means they have to remove more breast tissue.

Op was cancelled 2 weeks ago due to surgeon being ill.

Feeling scared I guess

  • Sorry you are going through this .  I'm sure you are keen just to get on with it and have surgery done and over with and having it postponed on you must have been really disappointing. Have the given you any idea of when your surgery will be scheduled for?  It helps to have a date to aim for.

The good news is that they caught it early so try not to worry too much.  Breast cancer is very treatable these days especially if caught early.

Hope you get your surgery booked in soon.

    Sending hugs x

  • Hi Mzrymk, the waiting is hardest isn't it, hopefully you will wake up after your op on Tuesday and all your fear will have gone.  Love Ann

Hi MaryMk, I am feeling just like you.  I have surgery booked for 12th and my cancer is dcis and caught early too but it is still very overwhelming.  Sending you big hugs for tomorrow - we need to keep telling ourselves it’s a common procedure and they know what they are doing.

It's a scary time isn't it. My surgery was on both breasts and I had califcations too . The hardest part has already been done, the waiting is by far the worst part. Everyone told me that breast surgery is not very painful I didn't believe them but you know what they were right. Operation was fine took a long time 7 hours so warn your family that you will be in theatre a long time so that they don't worry .  Take care you are almost through this not long and you will be back to normal life without all this worry X
