I was first diagnosed in 2011 after routine mammagram after lumpectomy and radiotherapy all progressed well until 2015 found another lump ! Again had lumpectomy and radiotherapy again caught early so avoided chemo now I have two scarred breasts and fear in my heart I have a lump in my left breast which is a benign calcification so no issue except it's painful and can be seen so needs removal enter pandemic and all cases get put back as mine non urgent still waiting ! Until this lump is removed I will never be rid of fear that it is hiding something I am now 5 years free and still dealing with it
Hi although personaly I would call you twice lucky as you were fortunate to catch it early both times and have it removed. I know it doesn't feel lucky to have had breast cancer and of course it isn't. I try and think of it like this: 1 in 2 of us apparently are going to get cancer and given I was one of the unlucky ones I am at least lucky enough that it was caught early with no evidence of spread.
I know what you mean though about feeling worried until this most recent lump is also removed. Once you've had cancer once never mind twice it does leave you very nervous about any and every twinge or abnormality.
Hope you get an appointment to have it removed soon x
Thank you God willing and yes you are right should be twice lucky and it will soon be removed and I can move on fully
