I’m taking letrozole but sude effects are driving me mad. Been in it 4/5 months now. Can cope with aching joints etc but now started with headache and dizziness. Shall I ask to change. What’s the best one or are they all the same ????
Hi Figgy2019, sorry you’re finding the letrozole so awful. There’s no easy answer to your question…. the best I can manage from what I’ve read here is that all of the hormone zappers can have side effects, none better or worse than others, but also that some people seem to tolerate them with no side effects at all. It really seems like a lottery. I’d definitely suggest that you discuss it with the breast clinic as it does seem that different people get on differently with these drugs. So you might well find that you get on better with one of the others. I’m on Anastrozole and don’t love it but have stuck with ‘the devil I know’ rather than trying another.
I’m sure others will pop in with different views. Love and hugs, HFxx
Sorry not on that one I got tamoxifen but on the thread called Oestrogen reducing medications, there is a lot of talk of side effects. This may or may not help you. I notice a lot of the talk can be about the brand given so may be worth chatting to pharmacist to try another brand. I've found taking mine in an evening is much better than a morning too. I’ll try and attach link but I did post a non descript message to bump it nearer to front page so won't be hard to find x
Hi figgy2019,
I am on letrazole and ribciclib and yes I find some of the side effects difficult to cope with sometimes. The doctor prescribed me cyclizine anti sickness meds and they do help. You can ask your doctor for something similar or even the same depending what other meds you are taking. Xx
Thankyou does this help with headache a d dizziness please x
Thankyou. Can you buy from chemist or is it prescribed by your go Carnt believe this has started happening after 4 months
Waiting for bcn to ring me see what they say Don’t know if they change the tablet I might be better xx Thankyou fir advice x
Spoke to bcn said headache isn’t a side effect of letrozole so may need a head scan. Just to frighten me a bit more !!!
