I had an appt yesterday to have pre op photos done and discuss scars, healing etc. I have oestrogen duct invasive stage 1, grade 2. Double breast reduction to take cancer due 1st October.
At appt yesterday I was told that due to covid numbers rising, staff being pinged etc that it may not go ahead as planned, but given hormone treatment instead to halt the growth. By the time I got home I had a text to see my pre op covid test was cancelled.
I've gone from being upbeat to a mess overnight. Just posting as feel in need if some support right now. I'm still working but feeling like going sick.
So sorry to hear this . You must be devastated. The worst of it is not knowing when your op will be, and the worry of a possible long wait. It may be worth contacting PALS to see if they can give you any idea when your op might be. Sending hugs xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Thank you. I will ring them Monday to see if I can find out more. I like your style. Just off to meet a friend for a dog walk and cappuccino. My one weekly dairy intake.
Hi, I am so sorry to hear this. I would contact PALS. I was started on hormone meds to allow extra time for an MRI and also I had a theraputic mammoplasty with reduction on other side. Reductions was not being restarted until 1.8.21 in my area when restrictions was being lifted and I had my op on 2.8.21. I know mine is grade 2 er 8/8 pr 7/8 so was started on hormone meds. Best wishes xxx
Thank you. I feel I'm mentally sinking by the day. As it's all up in the air. Think I'll start with breast care nurse and go from there. I'm still waiting on the HER results 7 weeks after diagnosis. I was told delaying surgery whilst putting patients on the hormone therapy had no detrimental affect but its certainly having an affect on my mental health. Sounds like you're healing well. It's great to hear some positive outcomes. X
Hi, how have you got on have you heard anything. Do you know your er and pr score. My er is 8/8 and pr is 7/8. This advises how effective the hormone medication is. What is the size of your area. It did really stretch my mental health waiting the extra few weeks, but having the mri confirmed sizing and position for my surgery and also they saw my lymph nodes again. It I did not have it I would have had a masectomy. Let me know how things are going. Best wishes xxx
